Not so long ago, a couple was smiling for the camera amidst Kashmir's valleys. It was a pre-wedding shoot—a new beginning for two hearts set to become a timeless memory. But within a year, one half of that couple was no longer in this world, while the other sat in a police car, head bowed. This is the story of Bangalore's doctor couple, Dr. Mahender Reddy and Dr. Krithika Reddy.
One a general surgeon, the other a dermatologist. Their paths crossed in medical circles, leading to their families approving their marriage on May 24, 2024. The wedding had it all—wealth, prestige, and love. The bride's father gifted a 30 million INR house in Bangalore's elite neighborhood to the couple. Within its walls, however, silence and the scent of death soon lingered, culminating in a terrifying turn of events.
Eleven months after the wedding, on the morning of April 24, 2025, Dr. Mahender Reddy called the in-laws and relatives to report Krithika had lost consciousness and that he was taking her to the hospital. People rushed over to find Krithika, aged 28, had passed away. Doctors claimed she died in her sleep. Krithika already faced health complications like gastro issues and high blood pressure.

Despite her age, her sudden death was shocking. As per protocols, the hospital notified local police. A medico-legal case ensued. Dr. Mahender Reddy and his family maintained it was a natural death due to her illness. Initially resisting a post-mortem, Mahender cited his medical profession as a reason.
He stated, 'I'm a surgeon, I know my wife's condition, no need for post-mortem.' Even Krithika's father agreed. Yet, her elder sister persisted, 'How will we find the truth without post-mortem?' Ultimately, they conceded. An autopsy was performed, returning inconclusive initially. Doctors preserved the viscera.
The case went cold but six months later, the viscera report arrived—changing everything. It revealed a high concentration of Propofol, a sedative. It became indisputable that Krithika was deliberately administered anesthesia through injection. As the only people at home that night were the couple, suspicion fell on Mahender.

Krithika's family filed a case based on the report. Police arrested Mahender. Under questioning, the surgeon husband confessed, 'I decided months after the wedding to kill Krithika, but sought a way ensuring no suspicion.' On April 21, when Krithika complained of stomach ache, he administered small doses. This continued on April 22 and 23.
On the night of April 23, he gave a lethal dose, leading to Krithika's death by morning. The pressing question for police was why. Why kill his own doctor wife? During investigations, Mahender expressed anger, feeling Krithika's family concealed her medical history pre-marriage. Krithika's ailments like gastro issues and high blood pressure necessitated frequent hospital visits.

Consistently suspecting he'd been deceived into marrying a sick girl, Mahender orchestrated a lethal conspiracy involving an injection undetectable for months. Skillfully executed, the murder seemed so natural that police remained quiet for months.
The viscera report unveiled every secret, exposing Dr. Mahender Reddy's meticulous plot through his own medical expertise. Now armed with the viscera report, syringe evidence, Mahender’s confession, and motive, police prepare to file charges against the murderous doctor to ensure justice is served.
