Northern India Shrouded in Fog: Advisory Issued for Flights from Delhi

Dense fog in Northern India prompted CAT III operations at Delhi IGI Airport, delaying several flights. Indigo, SpiceJet, and Delhi Airport advise checking flight status and preparing for potential delays.

In some parts of Northern India, dense fog has caused significant delays at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Delhi Airport, Indigo, and SpiceJet have released advisories warning travelers about potential flight delays. They advised passengers to contact airlines and check flight statuses before heading to the airport.

Indigo issued a travel advisory via social media, noting, "Visibility is reduced due to early morning fog in Delhi and parts of Northern India, impacting flight operations. We seek your understanding, as it is a seasonal phenomenon. Flight movements are being managed to ensure safe and orderly operations."

The airline further stated that early morning travelers might experience delays or revised schedules. It's recommended to check the latest flight status before departing for the airport.

'Minimizing Inconvenience...'

Indigo added, "Our teams are closely monitoring weather conditions and coordinating with air traffic authorities. Wherever possible, we are making operational adjustments to minimize inconvenience and ensure customer support is available at all critical touchpoints."

'Delays and Disruptions Possible...'

Delhi Airport issued an advisory stating, "Due to the dense fog, CAT III operations have commenced at the airport, which may result in delays and disruptions. Our on-ground teams are working collaboratively with all stakeholders to assist passengers and provide essential support across terminals. Please contact your respective airline for real-time flight updates."

The advisory further expressed regret for any inconvenience and appreciation for understanding.

SpiceJet also issued an advisory, noting, "Due to adverse weather (low visibility) in Delhi and a rainstorm in Dubai, departures/arrivals and connecting flights might be affected. Passengers are advised to continuously check their flight status."

Fog Blankets Delhi-NCR...

Fog has enveloped Delhi-NCR, reducing visibility to less than a hundred meters in cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, and across NCR. The fog extends to Eastern India and Bihar, with snowfall predicted in parts of the northwest Himalayan region today.
