Geetanjali Angmo, wife of renowned environmental and social activist Sonam Wangchuk, has categorically dismissed all allegations against him. She described the claims of a 'Pakistan link' and financial irregularities as entirely unfounded, asserting that Wangchuk has always championed movements in the most 'Gandhian way'.

Angmo held the security forces accountable for the violence in Leh on September 24. She emphasized that Wangchuk never incited violence and consistently advocated for peaceful and non-violent ways to progress the movement. The deteriorating situation, she claimed, was a result of CRPF's actions.

It's important to note that there has been a longstanding movement in Ladakh advocating for the sixth schedule status and statehood. During this movement, a protest in Leh turned violent on September 24, resulting in four deaths and injuries to over 90 people. Subsequently, on Friday, Sonam Wangchuk was detained under the stringent National Security Act (NSA).

A demonstration in Leh related to Ladakh's status demands turned violent, tragically resulting in multiple casualties and injuries.

Following the unrest, Sonam Wangchuk was taken into custody and is now held in a Jodhpur jail under NSA provisions.
