Residents of the capital Delhi experienced a brief respite from scorching temperatures as showers brought the maximum temperature down to 40.4 degrees Celsius, which is still two degrees above normal. Nonetheless, it is significantly lower compared to the skyrocketing temperatures in the past days. The minimum temperature settled at 28 degrees Celsius.

Cloudy Skies Expected over the Weekend

The India Meteorological Department predicts some relief from the severe heat in Delhi over the weekend, with partially cloudy skies anticipated on Saturday and Sunday. The end of the heatwave is credited to the influence of the Western Disturbance and lower-level easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal, with expectations of its resurgence post-weekend.
