Several northern states in India are experiencing chilly winters. Although some states are still awaiting the onset of biting cold, November is nearing its end. A deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm. The weather department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain on November 29 in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and coastal Andhra Pradesh, and a yellow alert for heavy rain in Rayalaseema.

Mild fog can be observed in Delhi during morning and evening hours. According to the weather department, fog will blanket Delhi throughout the week, with the minimum temperature likely touching 10°C, enhancing cold conditions. The IMD forecasts Delhi's maximum temperature this week to hover between 25° to 26°C, with minimum temperatures around 10° to 11°C.

According to Skymet, within the next 24 hours, on November 29, coastal Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka might experience light to moderate rainfall, with heavy rain at a few places. Northern coastal Tamil Nadu and southern coastal Andhra Pradesh could witness heavy to very heavy rain. Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy spells might occur in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, interior Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.

Additionally, light to moderate rain could occur in the eastern districts of Andhra Pradesh, south Odisha, south Chhattisgarh, and Telangana. On November 29 and 30, light rain is possible in south interior Karnataka, Odisha, and the plains of the Ganges. Between November 29 and December 1, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh may experience light rain and snowfall. The air quality index for Delhi-NCR will remain in the poor to very poor category.

As reported by Skymet, the deep depression in the southwestern Bay of Bengal is advancing north at 2 km per hour. On the morning of November 28, it was located at 9.1° N latitude and 82.1° E longitude. It was situated 110 km east-northeast of Trincomalee, 310 km southeast of Nagapattinam, 410 km southeast of Puducherry, and 480 km southeast of Chennai. This deep depression will proceed north-northwest, anticipating landfall between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram on the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coast by the morning of November 30. It may briefly evolve into a cyclone between the evening of November 28 and the morning of November 29. Wind speeds may reach 50-60 kmph with gusts up to 70 kmph upon landfall. Meanwhile, a new western disturbance is expected to reach the western Himalayan region by November 30.
