The Mohali POCSO Court has found Pastor Bajinder Singh guilty in the 2018 Zirakpur sexual harassment and rape case. The court will announce the sentence for the controversial pastor on April 1. Bajinder appeared for his final hearing on Friday at the Mohali POCSO Court alongside six other defendants. Due to a lack of evidence, the court acquitted the other five accused. This case involves allegations of sexual misconduct tied to a Zirakpur woman in 2018. Pastor Bajinder was detained in July 2018 at Delhi Airport as he attempted to board a flight to London.
The Zirakpur police filed a case against seven individuals, including Pastor Bajinder Singh from Jalandhar, known for claiming to cure ailments through miracles, following the victim's complaint. In addition to Bajinder, Akbar Bhatti, Rajesh Chaudhary, Sucha Singh, Jatinder Kumar, Sitar Ali, and Sandeep alias Pehlwan were named in the case. They faced charges under IPC sections 376, 420, 354, 294, 323, 506, 148, and 149.
In the charge sheet, police alleged that Bajinder Singh of 'The Church of Glory and Wisdom' had committed inappropriate actions with a minor victim in Jalandhar. Bajinder reportedly began sending obscene messages after obtaining her phone number. He would seat her alone in the church cabin, where he acted inappropriately with her. In response, the Kapurthala police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for the case.
