Nepal continues to experience political upheaval and instability. Recently, in a daring escape in Ramechhap, prisoners attempted a breakout, prompting the military to open fire.
Unfortunately, two prisoners lost their lives after the military intervention. During the skirmish, ten more were injured by gunfire. This marks the first such incident since the military took control in Nepal.
Earlier, the SSB apprehended a Bangladeshi national who had escaped from a jail break in Kathmandu. He had been incarcerated in Nepal for five years on charges related to gold smuggling.
The 47th Battalion of the SSB, responsible for guarding the Raxaul border between Bihar and Nepal, detained Muhammad Abul Hasan Dhali, a Bangladeshi national. According to Commandant Sanjay Pandey of the 47th Battalion, patrols have increased along the border in response to Nepal's changing situation over the past three days. Around 3 PM on Wednesday, a suspicious individual was detained. During the investigation, Muhammad Abul Hasan Dhali revealed that he was imprisoned in Kathmandu for five years. He managed to reach Raxaul after escaping during the recent jailbreak, and he has now been handed over to Harpur Police Station for further legal proceedings.
It's noteworthy that nearly 15,000 prisoners have escaped from various districts of Nepal during the second and third days of protests against the Oli government.
