BrahMos Range Enhanced with Russian Partnership, New Version Plans Underway

Putin is visiting India on December 4-5. This visit will finalize discussions on the new version of the BrahMos missile. The lightweight BrahMos-NG will be equipped on every fighter jet, with a range of over 400 km. The long-range BrahMos can strike between 1000-1500 km. A hypersonic missile project will also commence. This India-Russia deal will unsettle adversaries.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is arriving in India on December 4-5. The most significant news of this visit is about the BrahMos missile. India and Russia will work together to develop a lighter and longer-range version of the BrahMos. In Operation Sindhur (May 2025), the devastation BrahMos unleashed on Pakistan prompted the military to seek a more powerful variant.

In May 2025, when provoked by Pakistan, Indian Air Force fired BrahMos from Sukhoi-30. Pakistan's 8 airbases, radars, and command centers were destroyed. None of Pakistan's missile defenses worked. The world witnessed BrahMos as the most formidable cruise missile. Afterward, the military stated – now it's time for a lighter, more extended range variant.

During Putin's visit, the deal for 280 more S-400 missiles could also be finalized. In Operation Sindhur, the S-400 countered Pakistan’s J-10C jets and missiles while they were airborne. The fifth regiment may soon arrive.

India will become the world's foremost cruise missile manufacturer. When this announcement is made during the Putin-Modi meeting, Pakistan and China will lose sleep. BrahMos is not just a missile, it's a symbol of India's strength.
