Russian President Vladimir Putin is arriving in India on December 4-5. The most significant news of this visit is about the BrahMos missile. India and Russia will work together to develop a lighter and longer-range version of the BrahMos. In Operation Sindhur (May 2025), the devastation BrahMos unleashed on Pakistan prompted the military to seek a more powerful variant.

The world witnessed BrahMos as the most formidable cruise missile. Afterward, the military stated – now it's time for a lighter, more extended range variant.
