Big Benefits for School Cooks and Night Guards in Bihar

Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced a remarkable increase in the honorarium for cooks working in the state's education department, effectively doubling their pay. The announcement was shared in a post on 'X'. Moreover, significant raises have been announced for night guards and physical education and health instructors.

Doubling the Pay for Cooks

Nitish Kumar declared, 'We have decided to double the honorarium for midday meal cooks under the education department from INR 1650 to INR 3300. Additionally, night guards working in secondary and higher educational institutions will see their honorarium rise from INR 5000 to INR 10000.'

Increased Pay for Health Instructors

He further stated, 'The honorarium for physical education and health instructors is set to be doubled from INR 8000 to INR 16000. Moreover, their annual salary increment will now be INR 400 instead of INR 200. This will boost the morale of the employees, enabling them to perform their duties with greater enthusiasm and dedication.'

Boost in Incentives for ASHA Workers

Previously, the Nitish government decided to increase the incentives for ASHA workers from INR 1000 to INR 3000 and the per-delivery payment for Mamta workers from INR 300 to INR 600. This decision was made in response to their longstanding demands for higher remuneration.
