Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has condemned the violence in Nagpur. He remarked that the riots seemed premeditated. No one is permitted to disrupt law and order and peace must prevail in Maharashtra. The CM highlighted that 33 policemen were injured, including three officers of DCP rank, and 12 two-wheelers were damaged.
Addressing the assembly regarding the Nagpur violence, CM Fadnavis stated that post a protest by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, a rumor spread which gained momentum by evening. It involved a symbolic grave with a religious insignia on a sheet, escalating tensions and leading to violence. This appears to be a coordinated attack, and nobody has the right to take law into their own hands.
'12 Vehicles Damaged'
The Chief Minister disclosed that during the violence, 12 two-wheelers were wrecked and around 80 to 100 people gathered at the scene. The gravity of the situation was evident as a crane, two JCBs, and four-wheelers were set on fire. Additionally, some individuals were attacked with swords.

Axe Attack on DCP: CM
He further informed that 33 policemen were injured during the violence, including three DCP-level officers, with 5 civilians also attacked. One DCP was targeted with an axe.

5 FIRs Filed
Chief Minister Fadnavis also shared that five criminal cases have been registered in connection with the incident. A curfew has been imposed across 11 police station areas, and five SRPF contingents are deployed to maintain law and order.
CM Appeals for Peace
The CM urged the public to maintain peace and assured that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators. He praised the efforts of the police and reassured that those responsible for the violence wouldn't be spared.

'Police Attacks Intolerable'
The CM emphasized that attacks on police are intolerable, and strict measures will follow. These violent events and riots appear prearranged.
He also mentioned that the recently released film 'Chhava' aggravated public anger against Aurangzeb, but everyone should ensure peace prevails in Maharashtra.
In response, the police detained 50 individuals identified through CCTV footage.
