Arjun Tendulkar's IPL Auction Surprise:
The two-day mega auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. On the second day, prominent players such as David Warner, Shardul Thakur, and Mayank Agarwal faced a major setback as they remained unsold. Thus, they might not be seen playing in the next IPL season. Meanwhile, an interesting turn unfolded with Arjun Tendulkar.
Initially, Arjun Tendulkar was unsold in the first round, but in the second round, Mumbai Indians (MI) made the move to purchase him for a base price of 3 million rupees.
Notably, when these players’ names came up, no franchise showed interest in acquiring them. Even after names like David Warner, Shardul Thakur, and Mayank Agarwal were brought up again, there were no buyers.
Arjun's First Sale in 2021 Season
Arjun Tendulkar was first drafted in the 2021 IPL season. Mumbai Indians (MI) bought him for a base price of 2 million rupees. Since then, MI has consistently kept him in their squad and once again secured him in this auction. No other team showed interest in purchasing Arjun besides Mumbai.
The fast-bowling all-rounder Arjun has played a total of 5 IPL matches, taking just 3 wickets and scoring 13 runs. In the IPL 2023 season, he featured in 4 matches taking 3 wickets. However, in the 2024 season, Arjun played only one match and did not claim any wickets.
