On Monday night, Apple kicked off its developers' conference, named WWDC 2025. During this event, the company introduced the newest version of its operating system, also renaming them.

Instead of iOS 19, the company launched iOS 26. Alongside, other operating systems were renamed to WatchOS 26, tvOS 26, MacOS 26, VisionOS 26, and iPadOS 26.

Returning to iOS 26, it’s not just a new name, but a refreshed mobile interface. The introduction of the Liquid Glass design takes user experience to the next level.

Apple has equipped iOS 26 with powerful new Apple Intelligence capabilities. Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, explained that new capabilities have been integrated from the lock screen to home screen, enhancing phones and messages.

The Liquid Glass is a new design language offering users translucent material looks, allowing visibility of objects behind and around icons. This benefit extends to the lock screen as well.

Visible Changes in App Icons and Widgets

Let us inform you that Apple has also updated app icons, widgets, and other user interfaces. Liquid Glass materials might seem similar to Android's Material 3 design language.

With the launch of iOS 26, looks, feel, and positioning of various apps like Apple Music, News, and Podcasts have been transformed.
