India Today Conclave 2024:

On the final day of the two-day event, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav candidly shared his journey from becoming the CM to the preparation for the BJP's anticipated victory in the upcoming general elections.

During the event, Yadav recounted the incident from December 11, 2023, when he was declared the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Photographs from the BJP office showed him sitting in the back row during a session with newly elected legislators and central observers, moments before the announcement of his leadership role. Yadav himself was taken aback by the announcement.

When asked about that day, he shared that he was merely conversing with a fellow legislator beside him, speculating who the next CM would be. A friend joked it might be him due to his radiant expression. In the midst of their guessing game, Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the new leader after Khattar Ji, catching Yadav off-guard as he was still engaged in their discussion. Even after his name was announced, Yadav had to be prompted to stand up as it took a moment for the news to sink in, never having imagined such a turn of events.

Asked about the qualities that led to his selection as the CM, Yadav believes that the party leadership recognizes the merit in all its leaders and workers.

Lobbying Doesn't Pay Off

Addressing the topic of lobbying for the CM position, Yadav expressed his belief in the futility of such tactics, emphasizing that one should trust in their hard work. He highlighted BJP's ethos of providing opportunities to individuals from any caste, community, religion, or background, steering clear of dynastic politics.

Targeting Victory Across All 29 Seats in MP

With an eye on the upcoming general elections, Yadav affirmed that Madhya Pradesh has 29 Lok Sabha seats. While they won 28 in the last elections, he is confident that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the BJP is poised to claim victory in all 29 constituencies this time around.
