NCA Renamed as BCCI Centre Of Excellence:
Indian cricket received exciting news on Sunday (September 29) with the inauguration of the new National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore by the Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI), gifting players with state-of-the-art facilities.
In addition to this, BCCI announced a major change. From now on, the NCA will be known as the BCCI Centre of Excellence (BCE). The new BCE boasts numerous high-tech amenities.
Spread over 40 acres, the BCE is designed to be a hub for nurturing cricket talent and advancing the sport. It features 3 grounds and 86 pitches, including both indoor and outdoor facilities. This is a significant stride forward for Indian cricket.
What makes this new Centre of Excellence special?
This Centre of Excellence includes 3 world-class cricket grounds, each equipped with an exceptional drainage system. BCCI shared a video detailing this academy, revealing that the main ground, Ground-A, spans 85 yards.

Ground-A contains 13 pitches made of Mumbai red clay, which can host and broadcast matches under floodlights. Grounds B and C are 75-yard practice grounds, with 11 pitches made of Mandya clay and 9 pitches made of black cotton soil from Odisha's Kalahandi.
Over 240 Rooms with Numerous Amenities
In terms of attractions, it features a 16,000-square-foot gym, an open-air theater, and over 240 rooms. Additionally, there are 45 outdoor net pitches for practice. The world-class indoor practice facility includes 8 pitches with premium turf from England and Australia.
The high-tech sports science and medicine block includes a physiotherapy rehab gym, a medical lab with the latest technology, a recovery area, a steam bath, an underwater pool spa, and a cold shower area. It also houses an 80-seater meeting room, a coaches' area, and a 25-meter by 12-meter swimming pool.
