In Balrampur, UP, following complaints of land jihad and forced conversion incidents, the district administration has taken decisive action. Chief Development Officer (CDO) Himanshu Gupta has redefined the working territories of 14 village panchayat officers (GPOs) stationed in Balrampur.
According to administrative sources, incessant complaints of conversions and land jihad were being received from areas like Utraula, Gaisdi, Sreedattaganj, Haraiya Satgharva, and Gaidabujurg in Balrampur. Issues of illegal land encroachments, administrative leniency towards a particular community, and persuading youths to convert religions have fueled local unrest.
In the wake of illegal conversions and suspicions of foreign funding, the village panchayat officer stationed in Utraula, known to be the stronghold of Changur Baba, has been specifically transferred. Similarly, an officer has been transferred from Gaidabujurg, which is known as Changur Baba's ancestral place.
Transfers of Key Officers
Umashankar Pal: From Utraula to Haraiya Satgharva
Shambhu Dayal: From Utraula to Sreedattaganj
Ranjit Kumar Azad: From Sreedattaganj to Utraula

Beyond these, other officers' duties have also been modified to enhance accountability and transparency in each region. According to CDO Himanshu Gupta, these transfers are part of a regular administrative process to improve management at the panchayat level. This significant step highlights the administration's seriousness in dealing with sensitive issues.
