In the heart of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, a tragic sequence of events unfolded as bulldozer actions took place at the mandi committee. Chetan Saini, a fruit merchant whose shop was affected, tragically ended his life by jumping from a roof. Before taking this drastic step, Chetan expressed his sorrow through a heartfelt social media post, lamenting the loss of his livelihood and asking who would take responsibility for the devastation.

Following this heartbreaking incident, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak visited the site on Wednesday to assure the grieving family of justice. Chetan was the brother of BJP leader and Mandal Minister Gajendra Singh. The bulldozer's encroachment eviction led Chetan into depression, culminating in his suicide on Tuesday, sending shockwaves from the mandi complex to the BJP office. Late into the night, party leaders, police, and administrative personnel gathered at Chetan's residence.

The action to remove encroachments in the mandi committee on the previous day escalated into a major controversy when Chetan, distressed by the demolition of his shop, took his own life. The fact that the deceased merchant was a brother of a BJP official added layers of mourning and anger to the community's atmosphere.

Family's Allegations, Deputy CM Offers Condolences

The family alleges that the bulldozer action mentally shattered Chetan, which led to his untimely death. He had shared an emotional message on social media before the incident.

Saddened by the event's gravity, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak reached Moradabad to meet the aggrieved family at the post-mortem house. He promised strict action against the guilty, accusing officials of arbitrariness, emphasizing that such behavior would not be tolerated.

The family shared that Chetan returned home late on Tuesday, visibly distressed after discussing the bulldozer action with them, before retreating to the upper floors to rest. Around 1 a.m., a loud noise drew family and neighbors outside, where they discovered Chetan on the street, bleeding. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

How Did the Action Begin?

The bulldozer action was initiated on Monday when an encroachment was removed from a commission agent in the mandi committee. During this, individuals forcefully entered the office of the mandi secretary, Sanjeev Kumar, assaulting people and vandalizing equipment, including damaging CCTV cameras. Complaints were lodged with senior officials, leading to a determined encroachment removal the next day, which included Chetan's shop.

The family has directly accused the administration of demolishing the shop without prior notice or warning, causing Chetan severe mental distress, compelling him to take such a step. Currently, tensions are running high in the area, prompting Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak to visit the family.
