A shocking incident has surfaced in the MIG police station area of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Here, a 12-year-old boy took his life by hanging due to online gaming addiction. The boy was an eighth-grade student with a keen interest in online games. The entire family is in shock following this event. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the matter thoroughly.
As per reports, on July 31, the boy was playing a game on his mother's mobile at home. During this time, 3000 rupees were debited from his mother's account. When his mother discovered this, she tried to talk to him, but he showed no reaction and quietly went to his room. After he didn't open the door for an extended period, the family grew suspicious. They broke open the door, only to be met with a horrifying sight. The boy had hanged himself from the fan.
The family rushed him to the hospital, but it was too late. The doctors declared him dead. Just on July 30, the family had celebrated the child's birthday with great enthusiasm. Nobody could have guessed that sorrow would overshadow the joy the very next day.
Upon receiving the incident's information, the police arrived at the scene to assess the situation. They took the body into custody for a postmortem and commenced the investigation. Investigating Officer Rajesh Jain shared that preliminary investigations reveal online gaming and monetary transactions as causes for the suicide. Meanwhile, the deceased's uncle has urged the government to impose stringent restrictions on online games considering children's mental health and safety.
