Since the life-infusing consecration by PM Narendra Modi on January 22 this year, the devotees' stream has been incessant at the grand Ayodhya temple. The Secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, Champat Rai, disclosed that since the consecration, nearly 1.5 Crore people have come for a glimpse of Ramlala within the majestic temple.
Champat Rai stated, 'Every day, more than a hundred thousand devotees journey to seek blessings. Since the rich ceremony on January 22, the temple has seen around 1.5 crores visitors.' Notably, today marks the three-month anniversary of the consecration.
So far, only the temple's ground floor is complete where Ramlala's consecration took place. Construction for the first floor is in progress. A 14-foot wide protective wall will be built around the temple, traditionally referred to as 'Parikota.'
Explore the Architectural Marvel: The Three-Level Temple
The temple will span three stories, each standing 20-feet tall. It's being constructed across 2.7 acres and will rise to an approximate height of 161 feet. While the temple and related projects will need more time, the president of the construction committee, Nripendra Misra, has announced the completion of the ground floor. The first and second floors are targeted for completion by December 2024. Yet, Ayodhya is already radiating divinity and grandeur. Pilgrims here will soon experience an era reminiscent of the Treta Yuga. Everything from the temple's design to its Nagar style is distinctive.
Seven Additional Temples to Grace the Complex
According to the Ram Temple Trust, alongside the primary sanctuary for Lord Ram, seven other temples are being constructed. Temples of Maharishi Valmiki, Maharishi Vashishtha, Maharishi Vishwamitra, Maharishi Agastya, Nishad Raj, Mother Shabari, and Goddess Ahilya will enhance connectivity with the Treta Yuga. The main gateway will be known as Singh Dwar. The temple is being made following Indian tradition and indigenous techniques, with particular attention to environmental conservation and water preservation. Of the sprawling 70-acre complex, 70% will remain perpetually green.
The vicinity of the temple also houses ancient landmarks like SitaKoop. Temples dedicated to Surya, Bhagwati, Ganesh, and Shiva will be positioned at each corner of the precinct. The northern and southern areas will be graced by temples for Annapurna and Lord Hanuman.
