Xiaomi has a history of taking cues from Apple, from smartphones to software. Recently, their nod to an Apple advertisement has sparked discussions. Apple found itself in controversy over an ad for the iPad Pro. Following the critiques, the tech giant issued an apology and withdrew the advertisement.

After dismissing TV slots originally booked for their ad, Apple paved the way for Xiaomi to release a counterpart, mirroring the narrative, if not in entirety, of the original commercial. Samsung, too, couldn’t resist a jibe and released their own ad, poking fun at Apple's faux pas.

has mirrored Apple products before, from the iPhone to the iPad. Early in its Mi Pad range, products bore a striking similarity to the iPad Mini, and the Mi 8 closely resembled the iPhone X. Now, Xiaomi has replicated an Apple ad in their own stylings.

In Xiaomi's ad version, while the beginning sequences mirror Apple’s, the critical moment of ‘crushing’ is averted by halting the machine just in time. The advert teases the Xiaomi 14 Civi, a device eagerly awaited by Indian consumers.

If reports are believed, Xiaomi now targets the premium mid-range market in India. The Xiaomi 14 Civi could be priced under 50,000 rupees, boasting a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, promising a smoother visual experience.

It is anticipated to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor and offer a camera setup featuring a 50MP primary camera, alongside a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50MP telephoto lens. Additionally, a 32MP selfie camera is expected to complement the front of the device.
