In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, the railway police apprehended a woman escaping from Chandigarh to Bihar on the Jallianwala Bagh Express, accused of murdering her husband. She was found hiding in the train's restroom.
Back on June 10, in Sector 78, Mohali, Punjab, news broke out of a man being killed in his apartment. Investigations revealed his wife as the culprit. Immediately following the incident, she boarded a train to Bihar with her daughter.
When informed, the Kanpur GRP inspector coordinated with the GRP, RPF, and Crime Branch to locate and arrest the woman at Kanpur station, taking her to the GRP police station for questioning.
During the interrogation, the woman confessed that ongoing disputes with her husband arose from his inappropriate behavior towards their daughter. On the day of the murder, a severe argument led her to push him, causing him to fatally hit his head against the wall. Thereafter, she fled the scene with her daughter.
Officer Ramakrishna Dwivedi reported receiving a notice from Chandigarh Police the previous night about a female suspect on the run for murder. Subsequently, in collaboration with the RPF and GRP, as well as the Chandigarh Crime Branch, they detained the woman at Kanpur Central Station en route to Bihar. The accused is set to be handed over to Chandigarh Crime Branch authorities.
