Friday was nothing short of a dream for left-arm spinner Vishal Jaiswal from Gujarat when he dismissed India's star batsman, Virat Kohli, during the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. The moment turned even more special when Kohli signed the match ball for him.
Kohli Misses Century
While playing for Delhi in the tournament's second match, Virat Kohli was in splendid form, scoring a remarkable 77 runs off 61 balls. He seemed poised for a second consecutive century, but Vishal Jaiswal's elegant delivery caught him off-guard.
As Kohli stepped out of his crease with an aggressive intent against the left-arm spinner, Jaiswal outfoxed him with his flight and turn, resulting in a stumping. The precious wicket brought immense joy to Vishal Jaiswal. Yet, his happiness was further magnified when he received Kohli's autograph on the match ball and shared a picture with the star batsman, which he posted on his social media handles.

In the caption, Jaiswal wrote, 'Seeing him rule cricket worldwide and then taking his wicket on the same field. This is a moment I never dreamed of. Taking Virat Bhai's wicket will always remain memorable for me. I am grateful for this opportunity, this journey, and what this beautiful game has given me.'
Bowled Pant as Well
Jaiswal not only dismissed Virat Kohli but also clean-bowled Rishabh Pant and sent Arpit Rana and Nitish Rana back to the pavilion. He recorded impressive figures of 4/42 in his 10 overs.
Thanks to his excellent bowling, Delhi's team was bundled out for 254/9 in 50 overs. However, this target proved to be challenging for Gujarat, and they fell short, making 247 runs in 47.4 overs, losing by 7 runs.
Virat Kohli was named Player of the Match for his outstanding knock, which led Delhi to their second consecutive tournament victory. Kohli had to walk out to bat early in the innings when Priyansh Arya was dismissed by C.T. Gaja in the second over. Upon arrival, Kohli showcased an aggressive approach, hitting attractive shots all around the ground.
He scored over 30 runs in just 16 balls, boasting a strike rate beyond 190. Kohli completed his half-century in just 29 balls, while Arpit Rana struggled at the other end.
