After a hiatus from the BJP and campaign trails, Varun Gandhi has stepped forward to promote the party. Addressing the public in Sultanpur on behalf of his mother and BJP candidate Maneka Gandhi, Varun sought votes for her.

In his speech, Varun noted, 'Elections for 543 parliamentary seats are taking place across the country. Many charismatic and experienced personalities are competing, but there’s only one region where the MP is referred to not as 'Sir' or 'Minister' but by 'Mother.' People throughout the area call her 'Mother.''

Mother never abandons you - Varun

Varun Gandhi expressed, 'Mother is a force equivalent to the divine. When the world turns its back, a mother never does, and today I am not just gathering support for my mother but also for the mother of Sultanpur. He described a mother as a protector who does not discriminate, aids in tough times, and always harbors love for all in her heart. A mother's scolding is a blessing.'

Varun added, 'When we first came to Sultanpur to contest elections years ago, locals wished for the same vibrancy they saw in Amethi and Rae Bareli. It fills me with joy that Sultanpur is now mentioned in the forefront nationally.'

Maneka Gandhi comments on Varun's campaign involvement

On Varun's entry into the election campaign, Maneka Gandhi mentioned, 'He only campaigned when I asked him to.' When asked to compare Rahul and Varun Gandhi, Maneka replied, 'Everyone has their paths and destinies. What more can I say? If one has the ability, they will find their way.'

Why Varun lost the ticket from Pilibhit

It's worth noting that the BJP has fielded Uttar Pradesh's Minister of Public Works, Jitin Prasad, in Pilibhit in place of Varun Gandhi. Upon not receiving the ticket from the Pilibhit parliamentary seat, Varun penned an emotional letter to his constituents, affirming that their bond would last till his last breath. Since 1996, either Maneka or her son has held the Pilibhit seat.

Maneka Gandhi won the seat in 1989 on a Janata Dal ticket, was defeated in 1991, but won again in 1996. She secured victories as an independent candidate in 1998 and 1999 and as a BJP candidate in 2004 and 2014. Varun Gandhi won the seat as a BJP candidate in 2009 and 2019.
