In Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, police have uncovered a murder case that is sure to send shivers down your spine. Two months ago, a man killed his wife, buried her body in a pit, and brought his minor sister-in-law home, reportedly getting married to her. During this period, he subjected her to extreme cruelty.
SSP Manjunath T.C. revealed the case details, saying that on July 27, information was received that Santosh Kumar, a resident of Pratappur village, had murdered his wife and buried her body in a drain. Given the severity of the incident, the police registered a case. Important clues were found during the investigation, leading to the arrest of the accused from Anandpur Mor.
In 2019, Wife Filed FIR
During interrogation, he confessed to murdering his wife and burying her body. They recovered the body from the side of Kichha-Sidcul Road based on his directions. The accused suspected his wife of having an illicit relationship with his brother. In 2019, she had filed a case against him for assault and rape.
Following this, he spent three months in jail. Two months ago, an argument erupted between the couple at night, during which he beat her to death with sticks and buried her body in a drain.
First Wife Died Under Suspicious Circumstances
It’s important to note that Santosh's first wife, Rambha, died under suspicious circumstances ten years ago. The police are now questioning her death as well. SSP mentioned that after his first wife's death, the accused remarried. His second wife was from Uttar Pradesh, and they had three children.
Sold First Child, Allegedly Killed the Second
The accused sold his first child. Not stopping there, he allegedly killed his second daughter. However, he claims that the second child was stillborn. After his wife became pregnant for the third time, Santosh brought his sister-in-law home for care.
Relations with Sister-in-Law
The case took another shocking turn when the investigation revealed that he had a relationship with his sister-in-law. When her family found out, they took her back home. Two months ago, he killed his wife and then went to his in-laws' house to bring the minor sister-in-law home.
He allegedly married her and subjected her to various forms of abuse over these two months. He pulled her nails and inflicted injuries on her private parts.
The SSP stated that the accused is a psychopath. The manner in which he murdered his second wife suggests that he might have killed his first wife as well.
