In Uttar Pradesh, a directive requires all department employees to declare their income. Failure to comply has resulted in salary withholding for 7572 employees in the power department, pending submission of income details.
Despite the government's order, many electricity corporations in the state still have non-compliant staff. Specifically, salaries for 3033 employees at Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam have been suspended due to missing declarations. In addition, 1674 employees at Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam have also not provided their income details.
Similarly, 1669 employees at Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam and 981 at Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam face salary withholding. Furthermore, 170 staff members at the Power Corporation headquarters have not disclosed their income, resulting in withheld salaries. Even 45 employees of the Kanpur Electricity Supply Company are affected.
The government issued a decree in August for state employees to report their earnings. Those who submit income details by Monday will receive their salaries in September. Employees reporting after September 30 will receive payment in October.
