President Donald Trump is currently in Saudi Arabia. Addressing an event here, he presented himself as a peacemaker for facilitating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. During this, Trump again commented on the issue involving India and Pakistan.

While speaking at the US-Saudi Investment Forum, Trump claimed his administration intervened to help avert a potential nuclear war between India and Pakistan by securing a ceasefire, effectively saving millions of lives.

Trump stated that under the leadership of Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, peace talks helped ease tensions between India and Pakistan. He suggested a dinner between them and claimed his administration used trade as leverage to facilitate their ceasefire.

This statement comes following the announcement of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan on May 10, 2025, which Trump presented as a result of US mediation.

What Did Trump Say in Saudi Arabia?

During his address at the US-Saudi Investment Forum, Trump expressed that not long ago, his administration mediated a ceasefire to halt the conflict between India and Pakistan, utilizing trade extensively. He mentioned negotiating trade instead of launching nuclear missiles and suggested trades in beautifully crafted goods. He acknowledged the powerful and smart leaders of both nations who listened and stopped the war.

President Trump further said he believes they are genuinely getting along now and maybe can be brought even closer. He suggested they enjoy a good dinner together. He emphasized the great work done to avoid a situation that could have resulted in the deaths of millions.

Notably, on May 10, President Trump announced India and Pakistan had agreed to a ceasefire.
