US President Donald Trump missed winning the Nobel Peace Prize this year, yet he remains vocal about his efforts to halt wars burgeoning around the globe. On Monday, Trump reiterated his previous claim that he mediated a ceasefire between nuclear-opposing India and Pakistan after a brief conflict in May.

Trump made this statement during a ceremony focusing on the Gaza peace accord, which he brokered to conclude the two-year standoff between Israel and Hamas. He emphasized America's commitment to building bridges of peace, including between India and Pakistan.

Amid chants from Knesset members, he declared, "We will connect Tel Aviv to Dubai, Haifa to Beirut, Israel to Egypt, Saudi Arabia to Qatar, India to Pakistan, Turkey to Jordan, UAE to Oman, and Armenia to Azerbaijan."

India-Pakistan Conflict...

In reaction to the militant attack at Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed 26 civilian lives, India responded with 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan on May 7, escalating tensions between the two nations to a near-war situation.

The two countries agreed to a ceasefire on May 10, which Trump announced, asserting his role as mediator. However, India refuted the claim, noting meetings between Pakistan's military operations directorate and their Indian counterparts urged for peace.

Even India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi countered the claim, denying any role of Washington in the India-Pakistan ceasefire. Yet, Trump continued making such assertions.

Before departing for Israel to oversee the release of 20 hostages by Hamas, Trump took credit for averting war between India and Pakistan. He bolstered his assertion by stating that had the nuclear-armed rivals not ceased fighting, a 200% tariff would have been imposed on both.

Rejecting any ambitions for the Nobel Prize, the US President said he is a 'expert in settling wars.' His ultimate goal, he stressed, is to save lives, not to win accolades.

Trump also declared the end of the Gaza war, marking the Israel-Hamas ceasefire as the 'eighth conflict' he resolved during his presidency.
