In a startling instance of medical neglect in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh, a woman underwent a surgical procedure where, shockingly, her urinary tract was stitched up along with her uterus. The victim, who was admitted for delivery, faced serious complications post-operation. Her condition deteriorated over the span of eight days at the hospital, eventually necessitating a transfer to Gorakhpur for further treatment.

Medical experts disclosed that the surgical error has severely worsened the woman's health. Her kidneys have suffered damage, leading to the need for dialysis. In response to the family's plea for justice, the district magistrate and the chief medical officer have prompted an investigation.

In an update on the incident, the Medical Officer in Charge of Pathardeva explained that following grievances registered with the chief medical officer's office and the IGRS portal, they have initiated an inquiry. The hospital's documents are under scrutiny, and the doctors' credentials are being verified. He mentioned that this hospital had been previously sealed due to past incidents, leaving the community puzzled by its reopening.

It's worth noting that the case revolves around the Patel family from Mundera village. Unexpected labor pains on January 19 led to a rushed visit to a private clinic in Pathardeva, where they were told a normal delivery wasn't possible, prompting an emergency C-section that resulted in the birth of a girl. However, the new mother's health started to decline soon after.

Following the surgery, the patient experienced an alarming cessation of urination and was kept in the hospital for eight days, incurring costs of 50,000 rupees without any improvement. Subsequently, the clinic suggested they seek advanced care in Gorakhpur. Revealing the family's ordeal, Ram Sagar Patel reported that despite receiving treatment in Kasaya, Kushinagar, and finally Gorakhpur, her condition only worsened.
