There was a leader! From childhood, blessed with divine foresight on gain-loss, life-death, honor-disgrace... One problem? His English was weak. Poor guy was troubled. During exams, the English paper terrified him. Passing seemed impossible. One day, an old freedom fighter narrated tales of Gandhi's triumphant feats against the British, turning the improbable possible. Netaji was mesmerized, and made up his mind to trust Gandhi against English. He got someone to pen an essay on Gandhi.

'Mahatma Gandhi was the great man of India, the greatest leader of the world. He was born in 1869 at Porbandar state of Gujarat, went to England to become a barrister...'

At home, began the loud chanting. Started tackling only the English essay question in exams. Soon, barely passing scores began appearing. Writing about Gandhi's life and deeds helped him overcome English. The English paper was not a threat anymore. Even teachers had to yield. Over the years, he wrote the same essay with the same vigor and style. Some experienced teachers would mark enough to pass even seeing the beginning. So compelling was the essay that English had no choice but to bow!

Teachers too joined hands! The entire education system bowed!!! Perhaps learn some grammar or grasp some unseen passages? Mastering some vocabulary won't harm. Knowing little English won't cost your life.

Netaji kicked away all requests. Shunned all persuasion. Practiced delivering speeches about the Hindi belt's resistance against English on the same grounds.

Brothers...,

As long as straw mats remain in schools, the battle against English will persist. No mother's son dares defeat us. Down with the British! Let English sink! Long live Gandhi Baba! Long live the essay about English in the syllabus!

Since childhood, he was a leader. He was destined to be. Blessed with divine foresight, divine memory. Followed the path shown by Gandhi. He had memorized it all. As his stature grew from block to district to state level, even Gandhi proved useful. The principles of Gandhism were instrumental. Gandhi was great. Practiced what he preached. He was strictly against holding positions or amassing wealth in politics. Suffered for the country. Endured hardships. Believed politics was service... Preached great principles... Typed words were all memorized. These memorized words became useful. He appeared in the line-up of those who talked about integrity and ethics in politics. Such talks frightened everyone in politics, akin to how a naked person fears God. Everyone avoided, cleared paths. Netaji, like a raging bull, used these principles to charge everyone. The work continued. His stature grew. Became nationwide. Joined the government. Began governing the nation.

Then Divine Foresight Came to the Rescue Again!

For such twisted times, divine foresight was a blessing. Relief came. What you learn is never wasted! One just needs to know how to apply it. Principles can be given a modern touch. Adapted to the times. Who forbids making them practical? We'll follow principles. Just a new guise.

Now, the practicality of Gandhian principles went like this... What did Gandhi do? We've decided similarly how to run things:

Marching is essential, like the Dandi March... So, we'll surely do it, even if it's from a hotel in Switzerland to a bank! We'll surely do it. Honor must be given to the march. Non-cooperation is necessary, we'll ensure it. This approach will be maintained. Right actions, right systems yield right results after all.

The Quit India Movement needs to be run. We'll certainly run it. We'll force every right officer to quit this system. Moreover, what business do such types have here? Home is the right place for them. They'll stay there. We'll embrace their values wholeheartedly. Will not miss estimating the true worth in any matter. They gave us the principle of trusteeship; we'll form our trust too. By forming trusts, we'll also benefit family and relatives.

Gandhi opposed things. We'll do it too. However right or wrong, opposition will happen. No one will be able to stop it. Was the government made to listen? No knowledge needed. Why listen to the opposition? When in power, let them do as they please. Until then, we'll do as we like. Thus, we're doing, accumulating for the house. Confidence in Gandhi remains. His principles illuminate like a torch in darkness. Following Gandhi's path is our aim. Come what may, our steps won't falter.

So now, he's a great leader!

Was blessed with divine foresight since childhood. Strikingly, still ready to walk the path shown by Gandhi...
