Besides PM Modi, countries like the European Union, France, Italy, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt have also supported Trump's move. PM's statement came hours after US President Donald Trump announced the first phase of his 20-point Gaza peace plan.
Israel-Hamas Agree on Prisoner Swap
He shared that Israel and Hamas have agreed to exchange hostages and prisoners for the first phase of the 20-point Gaza peace plan.
According to the Gaza peace plan, within 72 hours of implementing the agreement, all living Israeli hostages will be released in exchange for approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. Trump provided this information on social media platforms.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, 'I am proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our peace plan. All hostages will be freed shortly, and Israel will pull back to predetermined borders. This marks the first step towards robust and sustainable peace.'
