The verbal exchanges between U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk continue unabated. Trump recently described Musk as a 'poor fellow,' stating that he doesn’t think about Elon Musk at all and will refrain from talking to him in the future.
On a Friday morning discussion with CNN, President Donald Trump remarked, ‘I’m not even thinking about Elon. There's some kind of issue with him. Poor guy has some trouble.’
'I Won't be Talking'
During a brief phone call, Trump discussed the upcoming jobs report, inflation, and gas prices. When asked if he had any recent conversation with Musk, he responded, ‘No, I might not be talking to him for awhile, but I offer him my good wishes.’
Trump’s remarks followed a day of sharp exchanges on social media with Musk, highlighting a public strain in their relationship.
Trump Considers Selling His Tesla Car
Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that Donald Trump is contemplating selling his Tesla car.
Earlier this year, Trump purchased a red Tesla car in support of CEO Elon Musk amid protests directed at the company and a decline in its stock prices.
Recently, tensions have escalated between Trump and Musk regarding a sweeping tax-cut bill. Musk labeled the bill a ‘horrible distortion,’ suggesting it would worsen the national debt of $36.2 trillion.
On Thursday, both figures launched scathing attacks on each other in social media posts, intensifying their discord. This ongoing conflict is adding complexity to efforts in passing a spending bill, the major demand from the Republican-controlled Congress.
The mounting tension between Trump and Musk is not only affecting their personal relationship but also bearing implications on political and economic policies. Trump's consideration of selling his Tesla car is perceived as another sign of this growing discord.
