U.S. President Donald Trump once again expressed his discontent with Russian President Putin concerning the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. On Tuesday, he took a firm stance against Vladimir Putin for the continuous conflict over Ukraine. Trump noted that this war is proving significantly damaging for Putin, portraying him in a bad light.
The remark was made during a bilateral lunch at the White House with Argentinian President Javier Milei. During this time, the U.S. administration announced a support package of 20 billion U.S. dollars for the Argentinian economy.
Trump commented, "I'm very disappointed because I had a great relationship with Vladimir Putin, perhaps still do. I don't understand why he persists with this war. It has been quite detrimental for him. The conflict has been dragged on for four years, which should have been concluded in a week."
During the media briefing, Trump stated that Putin has lost approximately 150,000 troops in this conflict. It has been a devastating war, marking the largest death toll incident since World War II. Even more significant than any other conflict. I've resolved eight of these wars. In terms of fatalities, this is the largest. I believe there were many possibilities with India and Pakistan. We did very well there. But Putin needs to resolve this war completely.
Trump to Meet Zelensky on Friday
It is noteworthy that Trump's statement comes ahead of his scheduled meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday. This meeting is expected to focus on U.S. support and the supply of arms. The meeting is set to follow Trump’s October 13th statement to the media, where the U.S. President mentioned that if the Ukraine conflict isn't resolved soon, he might consider sending long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine.
Trump to Impose Tariffs on BRICS Countries
U.S. President Donald Trump also made a statement regarding BRICS nations. He mentioned, "I’ve told all those who wish to remain in BRICS that it’s fine, but we will impose tariffs on your countries. Everyone is stepping out."
Trump claimed that these countries are withdrawing from BRICS. According to him, BRICS was an attack on the dollar, and he stated, "If you wish to continue this game, I will impose tariffs on all your products entering the United States." He also added that they are withdrawing from BRICS and no longer discuss it actively.
