In a heartbreaking incident in Pune, Maharashtra, a man committed the heinous act of murdering his wife and daughter with a knife. Police revealed that the crime was the result of an argument between the couple that escalated fatally. The incident came to light when the husband voluntarily surrendered at the police station.
According to the police, the argument took place in Pune city, where the man, in a fit of rage, attacked his wife with a knife and subsequently turned on his 16-year-old daughter. Both victims succumbed to their injuries. Officer Ajay Talevale made the arrest after surrendering at the Bharti Vidyapeeth police station early in the morning.
Debate Over Finances Led to the Altercation
Per PTI news agency, the altercation happened on a Friday morning in the Dattanagar area. Reportedly, the family was facing financial troubles, and a heated argument ensued between the couple. Overwhelmed by anger, the husband assaulted his wife Shweta, 40, and daughter Shirole, 16, with a knife.
Perpetrator Arrested, Case Registered
Police pronounced the mother and daughter deceased at the scene. An investigative team dispatched both bodies for autopsy. The perpetrator was promptly arrested with a case filed against him, and further investigation is underway.
