On a Saturday morning in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a devastating road accident unfolded, claiming the lives of three young individuals on the spot while critically injuring a passerby. This unfortunate incident occurred near the Rohta block in Meerut as three youths were heading towards Baraut on their motorcycle.
According to a news agency report, SP (Rural) Rakesh Kumar Mishra stated that the accident occurred around 7 AM. The three youths were traveling from Meerut towards Baraut. As per eyewitnesses, the motorcycle was speeding and skidded while attempting to overtake, leading to a direct collision with an oncoming tractor loaded with bricks.
The accident was so horrific that Shehzad (18), Arshad (19), and Rahisuddin alias Rozu (18) lost their lives instantly. The bodies of these youths have been sent for post-mortem. Police reported that a passerby named Rajneesh also sustained injuries and was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Post-accident, the tractor driver fled the scene. Police have launched a search for the driver and are scrutinizing CCTV footage from the area. This incident has left the entire region in shock, and the families of the deceased are devastated. Questions about road safety in the Rohta area have been raised, with such incidents occurring frequently.
Police have filed a case against the unknown tractor driver and have assured the families of the deceased of all possible assistance. Local residents have demanded strict measures be taken to enhance road safety and stringent actions against overloaded vehicles.
