The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has expressed serious concern over the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam and has called for a special parliament session to discuss this issue. TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar stated that the party held a meeting with all MPs and wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding a special session.
TMC's parliamentary group convened in the Central Hall to delve into the Pahalgam attack. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar articulated, 'We conferred with all our MPs and drafted a letter urging the PM for a special parliamentary session, where we can discuss this (Pahalgam) horrific attack. It's imperative to comprehend why we couldn't avert such an attack.'
TMC has questioned the failures of intelligence agencies in this attack and demanded accountability be set. Ghosh Dastidar stated, 'Accountability for the intelligence failure in Pahalgam must be established. While we stand in solidarity with the nation over Operation Sindoor, certain questions demand answers.'
Take Necessary Steps to Prevent Attacks
The terrorist attack in Pahalgam sent shockwaves across the nation, claiming 26 lives and leaving several others injured. TMC asserts that concrete steps are needed to prevent such incidents, and for this, an extensive discussion in Parliament is essential.
