The continuous standoff between the ruling party and the opposition is causing disruptions in parliamentary proceedings. Amidst this turmoil, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has targeted both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Rifts within the Opposition's India Bloc are becoming increasingly visible. The TMC, a member of this alliance, has accused the BJP and Congress of preventing the smooth functioning of parliament. They've claimed that these two parties are to blame for the stalled proceedings.
The TMC contends that the actions of the BJP and Congress are obstructing Parliament's orderly conduct. But what about the roles of other parties? It is worth noting that the winter session of Parliament is currently underway. Each day, amidst chaos, proceedings are often suspended.
Why is there chaos in Parliament?
Since the parliament began, this session has been engulfed in uproar. Alongside issues like Adani and Sambhal, now the George Soros topic has also emerged. During this time, the opposition has brought forth a no-confidence motion to remove Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. However, this proposal is unlikely to be presented in this session as it ends on December 20.
Amidst this, Congress and several opposition parties are trying to corner the government over the Adani issue. Opposition MPs have even donned masks of businessman Gautam Adani and PM Modi in Parliament. New MP Priyanka Gandhi also made an appearance with a 'Modi-Adani Bhai-Bhai' bag.
While the opposition focused on Adani to challenge the government, the government countered with the George Soros issue. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey first raised the Soros issue. Leader of the House J.P. Nadda also addressed it in the Rajya Sabha. He accused George Soros-funded forums of spreading propaganda echoed by senior Congress leaders, undermining national stability. He claimed that George Soros and associated organizations aim to destabilize India, with Congress acting as their tool.
Session running until December 20
Parliament's winter session commenced on November 25 and will run until December 20. Sixteen bills are set to be introduced in this session. However, intense debates continue over the Adani issue and the Sambhal violence. Amidst this, controversies have arisen over seating arrangements. The ruling NDA also accused the Congress of links with George Soros, leading to further disputes.
