Tennis player Radhika Yadav, tragically shot by her father in Gurugram, was contemplating a move abroad considering the stifling restrictions at home. This revelation comes from a WhatsApp chat with her coach. Radhika's father has confessed to the murder. A screenshot of the WhatsApp exchanges is available with the authorities.

In these messages, Radhika confided in her coach about her desire to break free: 'There are so many restrictions here, I want to enjoy life.' She expressed her wish to distance from her family to relish life to the fullest, even discussing potential plans to relocate to places like Dubai or Australia. She dismissed China due to limited food choices.

Radhika was from the same village as influencer Elvish Yadav

The investigation into the murder continues as the court decided on one-day police remand for the accused father. The police indicate that Deepak Yadav's frequent disputes over Radhika's involvement in the tennis academy led to her murder. Sources suggest that village gossip over Radhika's social media reels might have distressed him. A music video featuring Radhika, released two years ago, has resurfaced, possibly linked to the murder motivation.

Radhika was a native of the village like popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav and was inspired by him. Sources say she aspired to be an influencer, a fact that led to taunts from villagers, troubling her father. Despite this, Gurugram police confirm that Radhika's father confessed to killing his daughter, citing disputes over the tennis academy as the reason.

Sandeep Kumar, PRO of Gurugram police, informed authorities that Radhika's father has been arrested over the murder, and the murder weapon, a licensed pistol, has been seized. During interrogations, he admitted anger over her running the tennis academy, arguing that their strong financial standing negated the need for her endeavors, leading to frequent confrontations. The police dismissed any honor killing aspect in this case.

Post-mortem report contradicts father's claim

The post-mortem of Radhika Yadav, a tennis player, disclosed that she suffered four chest gunshot wounds, contrary to the FIR noting three shots from behind. Dr. Deepak Mathur from the Government Hospital board told authorities over a call the fatal shots were frontal. The bullets were removed for forensic analysis. This contradicts the father's confession of shooting from behind, as all wounds were frontal.

Radhika's mother refuses to give a statement

Radhika's mother, Manju Yadav, declined to officially comment following her husband's arrest. According to sources, during police interrogation, she repeatedly claimed ignorance over Deepak's motives. Manju asserted unawareness of the incident due to ill health, resting in her room during the occurrence. The FIR, based on uncle Kuldeep Yadav's complaint, indicated that Radhika was cooking for her mother's birthday when shot five times with a .32 bore revolver by Deepak, hitting her back fatally. Radhika had represented Haryana and the nation in numerous tennis tournaments, clinching several medals and accolades, although sidelined by an injury two years ago, ending her competitive journey.
