India's Tour of Zimbabwe 2024:

Following a groundbreaking triumph on June 29th at the T20 World Cup 2024, a fresh-faced Team India begins its T20 litmus test. The squad has embarked on a journey for a five-match T20 series. With veterans like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja retiring, the team will miss their presence. The captaincy baton has been passed to Shubman Gill.

Furthermore, VVS Laxman will take over as head coach for the tour, stepping in for Rahul Dravid who concluded his role as head coach on June 29th.

Team India has departed for their Zimbabwe tour, with images shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that also show VVS Laxman, who will be assuming head coach responsibilities.

Additionally, the BCCI shared photos that include other members of the team like Abhishek Sharma and Riyan Parag, who are on the Indian squad for the first time. It's noteworthy that 13 out of 15 players from the primary World Cup squad have been rested for this tour.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson are the only World Cup squad players selected for this tour. Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, Rinku Singh, and Khaleel Ahmed, previously part of the travelling reserves for the World Cup, have also found a place in the team.
