Surya Kumar Yadav IPL 2024 Update:
Surya Kumar Yadav is set to make his grand return to the IPL 2024, joining the Mumbai Indians once again. The franchise shared a video where Surya appeared in high spirits with the team. Speculations suggest that Surya might return on the 7th of April (Sunday) during the face-off at Wankhede Stadium against Delhi Capitals.
Without Surya Kumar Yadav, Mumbai Indians seem to be in disarray. Despite being five-time IPL champions, they're currently facing a hat-trick of defeats in the tournament. With the match against Delhi Capitals held at Wankhede, it seems likely that Surya will make a comeback in front of a home crowd. If Surya plays on April 7th, it will be a huge relief to Hardik Pandya, who is leading the Ambani-owned team this season.
Mumbai Indians posted a video captioned 'The moment we've all been waiting for, Surya Dada has arrived.' In the video, Surya can be seen arriving at the hotel in a Mercedes car, dressed in a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and wearing brown sunglasses. Surya's confident stride perceived in the video indicates he's in top-notch fitness.
The world's No.1 T20 batsman, Surya Kumar Yadav, recently underwent hernia surgery. He has been through rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy but is now fit and ready. There was already an update that Surya would miss the initial two matches of IPL.
Meanwhile, Surya has been actively sharing videos related to his health on social media post-surgery. His IPL track record is exceptional, with 3249 runs scored in 139 matches, averaging 32.17 and striking at 143.32.
Will Surya shine at the T20 World Cup as well...
Surya is an integral part of India's T20 setup, with four T20I centuries to his name. He is the number one batsman in this format, leading India in recent T20 series against Australia and South Africa, both won by the team. Surya boasts an outstanding strike rate of over 171 in 60 T20 matches, amassing 2,141 runs. India's hopes in the T20 World Cup largely rest on how Surya performs. He was last seen in South Africa commanding the T20 games for Team India.
