Former captain of Team India, Sourav Ganguly, has flatly denied entering politics but expressed his willingness to coach the Indian cricket team. Ganguly, who will turn 53 in July, served as the team director for the IPL team Delhi Capitals from 2018-19 to 2022-24.

Ganguly stated that he hadn't given it much thought because he was busy in different roles. When questioned about his interest in coaching India, he responded, 'I stopped playing cricket in 2013 and then became the BCCI President. On being asked if he could have contributed more as Team India's coach, Ganguly said, 'Let's see what happens in the future. I'm just 50 (going on 53), so we will see what's next. I'm ready for it. Let's see which direction it takes us. However, he made it clear that he has no intention of entering politics.

What Ganguly Said About Coach Gambhir

Ganguly praised the current coach, Gautam Gambhir, stating that he has performed well as a coach after the victory in the Champions Trophy in Dubai. Ganguly mentioned that Gautam is doing well. The start was a bit slow with losses against Australia and New Zealand, but he regained form with the Champions Trophy. This (England series) will be a big series.

Ganguly mentioned that he hasn't observed him closely in this role, but he knows that Gambhir is extremely passionate. He hasn't closely seen his strategies as he hasn't worked with him as a coach. Gautam is straightforward, sees things clearly, and speaks his mind openly. From the outside, he appears to be a very transparent person.

Ganguly reminisced about his playing days, noting that Gambhir was very respectful towards senior players. He played alongside him, noted his deep respect for senior players, and even today he appears to be highly passionate about his work.
