Uttar Pradesh News:

A startling revelation has emerged in the case of the murder of six family members in Rampur Mathura, Sitapur. According to police, Ajit Singh, the brother of the deceased Anurag Singh, has been apprehended for these heinous crimes. After a meticulous five-day investigation, Ajit was taken into custody.

It is noteworthy that Ajit utilized his father's illegally procured firearm to execute this atrocity. He was aware of its location with his mother and cunningly made it disappear before committing the gruesome act.

One chilling Friday night in Palhapur village, Ajit fatally attacked his brother Anurag, Anurag's wife Priyanka, their three children, and his own mother Savitri. He later deceitfully informed the police of his brother's supposed suicide after the murders. However, the police unveiled that Ajit himself crafted this fabricated tale to escape suspicion.

The motive behind the massacre

Police suggest that a property dispute, combined with the urgency to repay a 24-lakh agricultural loan obtained by the deceased's father, was the catalyst for the tragedy. Priyanka had plans to settle the debt by selling the land, which was opposed by Ajit.

Ajit desired the loan be repaid with agricultural earnings instead of selling the land. He harbored resentment towards his brother Anurag and sister-in-law Priyanka, feeling cheated of his rights. Ajit was also dissatisfied with his share of the 40 bighas of land.

IG Tarun Gaba revealed that the underlying frustration and feelings of neglect over the method of dividing property, along with the looming loan, were the triggers that led to these brutal killings. Presently, Ajit Singh is in custody. No evidence has surfaced of anyone else's involvement; Ajit acted alone in orchestrating this tragedy.

What the interrogation uncovered

During interrogation, Ajit admitted his original intent was solely to murder his brother and sister-in-law, but he was forced to kill his mother when she awoke. After unsuccessfully trying to calm his nephews and niece by claiming their father had taken their mother and grandmother's lives before committing suicide, he killed them too to silence their cries.

Ajit disclosed that on May 11, he laced the khichdi with sleeping pills, hoping the family would retire to bed, thus facilitating the murders without suspicion. However, that night everyone dined outside. Despite this change, Ajit did not deviate from his homicidal plan.

He tampered with the house's electricity post-midnight to draw his brother and sister-in-law out of their air-conditioned room. As they stepped out around 2:30 AM, hassled by the heat, Ajit shot Priyanka first and then Anurag. His mother, arriving at the scene, was killed with a hammer. He then executed the three children of his brother.
