In a political twist that's stirring up conversations in Uttar Pradesh's Budaun district, a decisive Samajwadi Party worker's conference saw the proposal to nominate Aditya Yadav, son of veteran leader Shivpal Yadav, for the Budaun Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 elections. The resolution now awaits the stamp of approval from party chief, Akhilesh Yadav.
The event took place in the Babrala town of Sambhal district, which falls under the Budaun Lok Sabha constituency. In attendance were prominent figures Shivpal Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav, where the latter passed the torch to the younger Yadav, marking a pivotal moment.
The BJP neither respects the Constitution nor democracy - Shivpal
At the Samajwadi gathering, Shivpal Yadav denounced the BJP, claiming they flout constitutional values and the principles of democracy. He also suggested that agencies like the ED and CBI are being used to imprison those in opposition. Yadav expressed confidence that his replacement by his son Aditya should be seamlessly endorsed by the national president.
With Aditya as the nominee, we will work doubly hard - Dharmendra Yadav
Dharmendra Yadav, who was also present at the assembly, endorsed Aditya Yadav's candidacy. He remarked that it was awkward to seek votes for uncle (Shivpal), but asserted that they will not only field Aditya but also ensure his victory. He promised increased dedication towards the Samajwadi kinship. He accused the BJP of deceitful tactics in their 2019 win and challenged them to first accomplish past promises before making new claims.
BJP spokesperson makes a jibe... tickets will go to uncle and brother
Upon hearing the news, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi made a wry comment, implying that the Samajwadi Party would be left wanting as the tickets seem destined for family members. It's worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently targeted political dynasties in his speeches.
