Shahjahanpur News:

A case of rape has been registered by the police against a fraudulent tantric operating outside a renowned dargah in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The accused, who claimed to be a spiritual master, lured a woman with promises of curing her mental illness and raped her on multiple occasions.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Alok Mishra informed PTI that the victim from Bijnor frequently visited the revered 'Bade Sarkar' dargah for her treatment.

It was this woman who approached the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Alok Priyadarshi with a plea, accusing Rahat, the maulvi, of deceiving her in the name of treatment, taking her to his room, and raping her. She further alleged that during the assault, he also filmed objectionable videos of her.

According to DSP Alok Mishra, the woman claimed that the accused Rahat took her to his room every day under the pretext of treatment and raped her. It is claimed that Rahat ran a shop selling shrouds and offerings at the dargah complex. However, the dargah management committee has yet to respond to media inquiries.

Officer Alok Mishra stated that a video, allegedly depicting one such incident, has appeared online. He affirmed that an FIR has been filed against Rahat and the case is under thorough investigation.
