Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at 5 PM on Sunday. He extended his warm Navratri wishes, stating that the festival of worshiping strength begins tomorrow. From September 22, India is taking another significant step towards the Self-Reliant India campaign. With sunrise, the Next Generation GST Reform will be implemented. The Prime Minister termed this as a 'GST Savings Festival'.

Highlighting the importance of GST reform, PM Modi pointed out the strides India made beginning in 2017. Previously, the country had a complex web of various taxes. Shipping goods from one city to another was difficult, requiring multiple forms and checks. However, the nation has now eliminated these complexities, realizing the dream of 'One Nation, One Tax'.

PM Modi shared that in the past eleven years of his tenure, 250 million people have risen out of poverty and joined the middle class. The reduction in GST will benefit both the poor and the middle class alike.

The combination of income tax relief and GST reduction will offer savings opportunities surpassing ₹2.5 trillion in a year. The Prime Minister called this a 'savings festival'.

Indigenous Goods and National Prosperity

The Prime Minister urged citizens to buy indigenous products. He emphasized the importance of adorning homes and shops with local products with pride. He encouraged everyone to proudly declare their support for indigenous goods.

Additionally, he appealed to all state governments to promote manufacturing and create an environment conducive to investment. The collaboration between the central and state governments will help achieve the dream of a self-reliant India, ensuring development across all states.
