On Sunday, the town of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh was engulfed in intense violence. Clashes between protesters opposing the Jama Masjid survey and the police resulted in four fatalities and numerous injuries, including 20 security personnel and four administration members. Stones and bricks were hurled, vehicles set ablaze, and stones directed at the police, prompting officials to disperse the crowd using tear gas and batons.

20 Police Injured, Deputy Collector Suffers Fracture

Moradabad's divisional commissioner, Anjaney Kumar Singh, reported that the rioters fired shots, injuring the SP's PRO in the leg, the CO was hit by pellets, and 20 security personnel were injured. A constable suffered a serious head injury, while the deputy collector's leg was fractured. Internet services have been suspended in Sambhal tehsil for 24 hours, and the district administration declared a school holiday for students up to class 12 on November 25. City borders are sealed following DM's entry ban order until December 1.

Four Lives Lost to Sambhal Violence

Four people perished in the Sambhal violence: Naeem, Bilal Ansari, Nauman, and Mohammad Kaif. Nauman and Bilal Ansari were laid to rest at 11 PM. A complaint has been filed with the National Human Rights Commission regarding the violence, with a private organization submitting a video showing the alleged police firing leading to the death of four youths.

Chandrashekhar Azad Announces Visit to Sambhal

Despite the entry ban for outsiders in Sambhal until December 1, Bhim Army Chief and Nagina MP, Chandrashekhar Azad, announced his visit today to meet the bereaved families. On X, Chandrahshekhar stated that government bullets have always targeted the marginalized. This harsh truth is well understood by us, whether it’s the SC/ST movements, the farmers' protests, or the CAA opposition. Every time, the police fired directly at unarmed demonstrators, taking away the lives of our people. I will soon meet injured police officers to uncover the truth behind this violence.

Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes Government

In another clip, SP Krishna Kumar can be seen appealing to stone-pelters to avoid violence, heard urging, "Don't ruin your future for these politicians."

21 Arrested, Including 2 Women

Divisional commissioner Anjaney Kumar Singh said the police used pellet guns and no lethal weapons. 21 people were detained, and various weapons recovered from them. Shots were fired from a house in the Nakhasa police area. Two women were among those arrested, and multiple ammunition casings were found at the firing scene.
