Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was determined to visit Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, but the police halted his advance with barricades along the highway. In response to his visit, Naeem’s family, who lost him in the Sambhal violence, shared their views. Naeem's brother remarked that leaders and the media would soon depart, and they desired no further trouble. They just wanted to be left alone.

Meanwhile, speaking with 'Aaj Tak,' Naeem's grieving mother Idrisha tearfully expressed her longing for her lost son, saying, 'Just bring my son back once; my son is gone. He was shot, and no one stood by us. What can I say? All I want is my son back, nothing else.'

On November 24, Naeem’s brother Alim, reflecting on the

violence in Sambhal

, said, 'We are not asking for anything, only hoping for no further actions against our family. Leaders, the media, or anyone else... they will all leave in a few days. That is why we do not wish for any more issues. Offer any support to the family you can, but we are not demanding anything from anyone.'

It is notable that tension had been simmering in Sambhal since November 19, following a court order to survey a Mughal-era mosque. The site was claimed to have previously been a Harihar temple. On November 24, violence erupted during a second survey when protesters gathered near the mosque and clashed with security forces, resulting in stone-pelting and arson. Four people tragically lost their lives, and numerous others were injured. The police have refuted claims that they fired on the protesters.

In the meantime, the

Samajwadi Party

made a significant decision. The party announced that they would provide financial assistance of 500,000 INR to the families of those killed in the Sambhal violence. Additionally, they demanded the Uttar Pradesh government offer compensation of 2.5 million INR to each bereaved family. The SP accused the BJP of failing in governance, stating, 'In the violence in Sambhal, the incompetence of the BJP government and administration led to the loss of lives. In response, the Samajwadi Party will offer 500,000 INR to each victim's family. The UP government should also compensate the deceased families with 2.5 million INR each.'
