Following a heated debate in the Oval Office between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russia's Foreign Ministry condemned Zelensky's visit to Washington as a 'total diplomatic failure by Kyiv.'

Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for Russia's Foreign Ministry, issued a statement on the ministry's website on Saturday, describing Kyiv's February 28 visit to Washington as entirely a 'political and diplomatic collapse.'

Zelensky: 'The Greatest Threat to Global Community'

Zakharova argued that Zelensky is beset by an 'obsession with prolonging the war,' citing that Moscow's aims still include 'demilitarizing Ukraine and officially acquiring all territories seized by Russia.'

She further claimed, 'Zelensky's uncouth and unbecoming conduct in Washington has proven him to be the greatest threat to the global community as a reckless provocateur of major conflict.'

'Oval Office: Zelensky Sharply Rebuked'

Zakharova continued by suggesting that 'as soon as Kyiv and some European countries comprehend this reality, the quicker a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian crisis can be achieved.' Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev labeled the situation 'Zelensky's severe reprimand in the Oval Office.'

On social media, Medvedev commented, 'Trump has laid bare to this clown (Zelensky) the truth that the Kyiv regime is toying with World War III. This is crucial but insufficient. The immediate cessation of military aid to Ukraine is imperative.'
