The Russian Embassy in Tel Aviv has advised all its citizens to leave Israel immediately until stability is restored in the region. Amidst the Israel-Iran conflict, Russian Ambassador Anatoly Viktorov shared this information with the media on Monday.
Viktorov told Russian broadcaster Russia 24, 'All Russian citizens currently in Israel should depart the country until the situation has settled.' He advised them to travel through Egypt, where they can enjoy visa-free entry and find flights to Russia.
He remarked, 'The situation is tense, I must admit. There is a risk to the lives and health of both diplomats and Russian citizens in Israel.'
The Ambassador highlighted that emergency plans are being considered should a large-scale evacuation be necessary. Previously, the Russian ambassador temporarily suspended operations at the consulate in Tehran, Iran, and recalled some citizens back home.
Israel conducted significant attacks on Iran’s military and nuclear infrastructure last Thursday night, resulting in the death of Iran's top military generals and nuclear scientists. In Iran’s retaliatory actions, at least 24 people in Israel have reportedly been killed. Iranian officials claim that Israeli attacks have claimed at least 224 lives since last Friday.
On Monday, the Indian Embassy in Tehran announced that they are monitoring the security situation and keeping in touch with students residing in Iran. On Sunday, the Indian embassies in both Tehran and Tel Aviv issued a helpline number to maintain communication with Indians present in Israel and Iran.
The Indian Embassy in Tehran shared a Telegram link for Indians residing in Iran. The embassy's statement said, 'Indians in Iran are requested to join this link to receive regular updates on the situation.'
It also advised Indians to avoid non-essential activities in Iran and stay in contact with the embassy.
