On June 9th, India's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with the support of its allies, once again formed the government under the leadership of Narendra Modi. Following this, attempts have been made to weave false stories of 'differences' between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP.
The RSS has never been politically active but has consistently worked for the people's welfare without any bias or grudges. Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, RSS Chief, clearly stated in his recent Nagpur speech the need for national consensus on improving the political culture and addressing government challenges.
Unite for National Progress
Bhagwat praised the past decade of the Modi government's governance and emphasized that challenges remain. Political groups must unite for India's growth. Since its inception, the RSS has refrained from actively voting for or against any political party, focusing on educating society about emerging national issues, thus refining public opinion, and urging 100% voting in national interest.
RSS Advocates Three Key Principles
Undoubtedly, many RSS-inspired volunteers have served in Jan Sangh and presently in BJP, contributing extraordinarily, benefiting both the party and country. Yet, the RSS does not seek credit for such contributions. Understanding the RSS-BJP relationship necessitates awareness of RSS foundational principles and its link with BJP. Established in 1925, the RSS promotes eternal culture, national unity, and self-reliance.
RSS Stands Above Partisan Politics
As a socio-cultural organization, the RSS operates distinct from BJP's political unit. This separation aligns with the RSS's belief in remaining above partisan political disputes, guiding the nation's cultural and social renaissance.
Emphasis on Promoting Cultural Values
Historically, the RSS has played an instrumental role in shaping the ideological roots of like-minded entities, keeping these organizations connected to broader social upliftment goals. The RSS consistently emphasizes promoting Indian cultural values aligned with social harmony, national unity, democracy, pluralism, and citizen welfare.
Guidance Upon Request
The RSS offers guidance only when asked, resembling an ethical and ideological compass. This approach matches the RSS's role as a socio-cultural body dedicated to advancing Hindu culture, national unity, and self-reliance.
Inclusive Development as the Major Goal
The RSS's approach should not be seen as an effort to undermine BJP policies or decision-making. Instead, their shared ideological roots ensure both entities work towards inclusive development in their respective domains.
Attempts to Create Past Rifts
In the past, there have been unnecessary and mischievous attempts to create rifts between RSS and BJP. It's crucial to understand that since the formation of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) in 1951, their relationship thrived and continues evolving. Unlike the past when BJS and BJP were primarily opposition parties, now BJP stands as the central figure in Indian politics.
Persistent Vote Share and 240 Seats Secured
The BJP-led NDA government has come to power for the third consecutive time at the center. Their pre-election coalition secured a majority, marking a significant political achievement. Post third term, the BJP still won 240 seats, with steady vote share, gaining remarkable momentum in Odisha and southern India, driven by a vigorous campaign.
No Reason for Friction
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dynamic leadership, the party has set high benchmarks, constantly elevating them. Although the party might not have met expectations relative to those benchmarks, it has historically outperformed, unlikely to be matched by any party in coming decades. In such a scenario, logically viewing, there is no reason for any friction between RSS and BJP.
Expose the Conspiracy
In his recent Nagpur speech, the RSS Chief rightly highlighted how attempts are made to drag RSS into electoral politics through fake content and social media misuse. The opponents of RSS and BJP were behind this conspiracy. Now, we witness the next phase: creating an illusion of RSS and BJP standing against each other. Exposing this conspiracy and not succumbing to fake narratives is crucial. These entities attempt to undermine the massive nationalist endeavor of rebuilding India under RSS-BJP leadership.
