In Bihar's legislative council, where Rabri Devi stands as the leader of the opposition, the decision to allocate her a new official residence has sparked fervent criticism from her daughter. She boldly questioned, 'You may evict us from a house, but how will you remove us from the hearts of Bihar's people?' Additionally, she accused the Bihar government of disrespecting Lalu Yadav under the guise of good governance.

On Tuesday, Bihar’s building construction department allocated government residences to ministers and legislative council leaders, including Rabri Devi, a prominent RJD leader and former chief minister, who was assigned a central pool residence on Harding Road.

'How Will You Remove Us from the Hearts of the People?'

Lalu Yadav and Rabri's daughter, Rohini Aacharya, took to social media and wrote, 'The governance model seems to prioritize belittling the leader of millions, Lalu Prasad Yadav. Eviction from a house is possible, but how will you erase us from the people's hearts? At least respect Lalu Ji’s stature!'

This post has made Rohini the target of intense debate online. Critics are questioning her motives, with one user pointing out that the bungalow was an official residence since 2006, not personal property. They argue it's procedural and protocol-based, and her public display seems aimed at garnering sympathy. It's not that a residence hasn't been allotted; transitioning to the new allotment should not be seen as a dishonor.

Residence Allotted Under the Quota for Opposition Leader

Shiv Ranjan, the Joint Secretary of the Building Construction Department, issued a formal letter outlining the transition, stating that since Rabri Devi now holds the position of opposition leader in the Bihar Legislative Council, she is allotted a new bungalow on Harding Road, replacing her current residence at 10 Circular Road.

This follows internal disputes within the Lalu family, noted after recent state elections, leading to public declarations of political withdrawal and accusations against close associates within the party.
