As elections heat up in Bihar, political tension has escalated over AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi's offer. RJD's Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha responded, stating Owaisi's foundation is in Hyderabad. At times, not contesting is indeed helpful. If they truly want to defeat BJP, abstain from the elections.

Ahead of the elections, Owaisi's AIMIM took a surprising turn by proposing inclusion in the INDIA bloc. AIMIM's Bihar State President Akhtarul Iman wrote to RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, seeking inclusion in the grand alliance.

Reiterating, RJD's Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha addressed the situation, emphasizing Owaisi knows the results of participating or abstaining in elections. His advisors hold this understanding as well. Should your aim be to undermine BJP's authoritarian streak and dismantle their politics of hatred, then, strategically, not contesting can be a sound decision. I trust he'll contemplate this move.

Manoj Jha remarked that crucial moments arise during elections where non-participation reflects a choice... under Tejashwi's leadership, the grand alliance has been significantly fortified. Recognizing this, I appeal to Owaisi. This election is pivotal, steering the direction of national politics.

What did JDU say...

Simultaneously, JDU leader Neeraj Kumar questioned whether Owaisi would stand by his earlier declarations. RJD had induced four of Owaisi's legislators to defect. RJD rarely acts without donations or charity. Owaisi won't find Lalu's gates opening without contributions.

What did AIMIM's letter state?

AIMIM's Bihar State President Akhtarul Iman in his letter to RJD's Lalu Prasad Yadav, emphasized that since 2015, AIMIM has been actively partaking in Bihar's political landscape, consistently aiming to prevent the division of secular votes. They assert that splitting secular votes empowers communal forces and have previously expressed a desire to join the grand alliance. Although previous attempts faltered, with assembly elections slated for 2025, AIMIM desires inclusion in the coalition.

He noted that discussions with senior leaders from RJD, Congress, and Left parties have taken place, gaining media traction. AIMIM firmly believes unified participation in the upcoming assembly elections can avert secular vote division, leading to the grand alliance's governance in Bihar. The letter, written on July 2, 2025, concludes by urging a positive decision on their proposal, seeking immediate notification.
